Scene Tax rip off!

Post by 8 8US » Wed Jun 25, 2014 7:12 am

How can a single port manifold gasket be £2.30 plus £3.95 postage from VW Heritage?

http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Inl ... 133248.htm

Or £2.80 plus £1.50 postage on their eBay page:-

When it is only 65p from JK, admittedly £1.45 postage.

JK have found a generic copper ring and put their markup on it.

Heritage have done the same, but it might be a correct copper ring, or maybe they've just whacked on a massive markup.

I might have some of those, as its not something I'll ever use myself, I'll have a look later. Postage would be cheaper too

Guess I should have asked if anyone had any spare as there are 2 of them in every gasket set you buy, unfortunately I have ordered some from JK now.

If anyone needs any twin port gasket let me know, I have a stock of them in a drawer!

Also various other gaskets including a mountain of pushrod tube seals but not barrel to block gaskets.

Happy to help, perhaps we should have a sticky on bus parts for sale for people to list this sort of thing?
