Emails sit in outbox for ages

Post by rusty1962 » Sun Jan 26, 2014 8:02 pm

I've noticed that when sending pm's they go to the outbox and then sometimes sit there for ages before actually being sent. Why is this.

There is also no "resend this message" feature

Correct. They stay in your outbox till the recipient next logs in and reads them.

That's actually not a bad system, once you know how it works!

At least you know that they've been seen, unlike normal email.

I'll stop trying to copy them and resend them now

Thanks

I have a suggestion about this for the administrators of this site. Can this be made obvious please, so that I and probably every other user doesn't have to search these forums for an answer to this. Something along the lines of a notification saying "Your email will sit in your Outbox until it has been read by the recipient". Or better still, for it not to go into your Outbox, but rather into Sent Items. Seems obvious, no?

Sorry this functionality is built into the phpbb forum software. We can't (easily) modify it
