1/8th mile times qualify?

A place for BWA'ers, wannabee's or just those with a 'passing' interest in straight line speed. (You see what we did there?)

1/8th mile times qualify?

Post by The Fordhams » Tue Apr 07, 2009 1:13 pm

Its been several years in the making but we finally ran our bus down the strip on Sunday - the trouble is nearly all the local tracks out here in North Carolina are 1/8th mile - the closest 1/4 mile that runs test and tune is about 4-5 hours away.

Anyways we ran at Farmington dragway on Sunday 5th April 2009we ran a best of 10.48 with another two runs within 0.2 seconds and all with offical timing slips - all can be scanned so we can snigger at my poor reaction times but still its a 10.48.

Online calculators say a 10.48 is a 16.34 1/4 mile. So what do you reckon - I got video, in bus video, pictures etc and those slips....

The bus is a 66 deluxe, with a 2276 upright engine, pro street straight axle trans etc.

Would this be the first overseas chapter?

I'm pretty sure the answer will be no but I'll let Rikki or someone more involved confirm - has to be a qtr mile and the 6 founder members need to agree your inclusion - which they may do given the distance you'd need to travel to find a qtr mile track

Good effort though - jolly well done :D
