Fuel cap

Post by tatoo65 » Sun May 06, 2012 9:32 pm

Need some help identifying a fuel cap I bought off eBay, I thought it would fit my 62 Splitscreen but when it arrived I was shocked to find it was twice the size of my cap :?:
It has the vw logo on the top of it but it's 11cm across?
Any ideas what this is meant for 8O

Thanks Andy

Sounds like an early bug cap where the tank is under the bonnet.

Sounds like a pre 55 beetle cap. They were far bigger than the 56 onwards.
