I've picked up a lovely set of Douglas rims for the rear (like centrelines but with big bolts rather than rivetts) but I wanted something different for the front. I'm not 100% happy with what I have for the front so it's very likely to change as the "right" thing becomes available.
For now I've got some cheapie BRM reps that I'm going to sand blast, leave to go dull and laquer but I will try and pick up something a bit more unusual on my next trip to the states.

Like the sound of the Douglas rims :) Looking forward to seeing what you come up with on the front ;)

That will look great, are you doing it yourself?
I imagine that is going to be a frustrating job to do neatly on the long piece and the curved ones!
Thanks Paul, I'm proper chuffed with the way it's turned out.

Not doing it myself Darren has that task. He used to work at Maranello the Ferrari importers restoring all their classics, quite a lot of them had Ali trim pieces and he has a special stainless steel brush designed for be job. I've seen the test piece and it looks great, bit different from the norm

I wasn't sure the silver bumpers were going to work but I love them, again, just how I imagined them in my head but you never know until they're on. Hope my wheel choice works as well

Orb
If you had said to me satin finish silver bumpers - I'd ave said that sounds odd to me, but in the real I really like them... Will keep an eye out for you down at the Ace... Sure is looks 8)

It is porous and it's a ***** to keep looking good "unless" you put the matting agent into the laquer (as we have done) in which case you can still wash it off.

I don't really know yet how much hassle it will be but of it proves to be to much grief then I'll just get it repainted as all the hard work (panel replacement) has been done

Hi guys and gals
Well after 4 months (a remarkably short time considering the amount of work) the bus is finally finished.
I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea but I love the way it's come out.
I'm not 100% happy with the front wheels but I just wanted it to roll out on something different to what was on there, I shall be on the look out for a set of ercos to complete the look.
I obviously couldn't have done this without the help and blessing from the lovely Isabel, without the outstanding skills of Darren Mills the body master, Ian Clark of Wolfsberg Performance Services, Custom and Commercial for all the bits and bobs I'd forgotten and all of the people who have encouraged me along the way - its been emotional :D

Cheers
