'Different' Fuel Gauge - Please educate me

Post by os1624 » Fri Dec 23, 2011 1:45 pm

Afternoon all,

I've seen this item for sale on ebay. The seller isnt 100% himself but believes it to be a vw fuel gauge.

I havent seen one before, but then again I'm a youngster in the world of VW's.

Anyone care to educate me? Everyday is a school day.

Heres a pic of the back. Maybe I should have posted this at the start... :?

I can't see any 'VW' stamp but the numbering is very familiar.

Looking at the screw terminal, that would suggest early, so more than likely 6 volt

One of the only grey cells left in my head tells me this could be early Porsche. It's a fine looking gauge.

Nice looking gauge but won't sit well on the bus dash, not having a radius on the bezel.

Just a thought.

...and if you have an oval...I have an NOS clock like the one in the centre on sales box...which I was not thinking about selling but now I know where it comes from...I will be advertising with this picture. I could be persuaded to sell. but not cheap..
