Exhaust?

Post by splitstream »

Looking to change the system and would like to put a stainless one on.

At the mo' we have a 1641 on twin webbers and a monza 4 tip exhaust, I would like to fit either a Hideaway or Phatboy system are they the same thing or slightly different.

Also where the best place to buy as I would pay a bit more rather than end up with something crap!

Here is a picture of my new 1776 with an A1 ceramic coated merged header and sidewinder muffler. I got it with the engine and paid $600 extra for the system including matching heater boxes.

In the same position of needing a new exhaust.

Running a 1600 single port with twin 34's and petronix ignitor 2. I am planning on keeping the bus and want something reasonably quiet and long lasting that I will have no problems fitting.

Have been advised to go for a stainless 1 piece and the only one i can find is from Bluebird for £295.

£300 delivered with fitting kit is my absolute maximum any ideas .

Cheers

James

I have the TurboThomas s/s full hideaway system, with matching J tubes that is a thing of beauty that Rich made for me to miss my remote oil filter.

His systems aren't cheap, but are top notch & worth every penny

Can i just ask a very newbie question please.

I don't have any heater tubes on my engine, do i need to put them back on? If so why? If not, why not?

Do i need them for a performance exhaust? Will it perform better without the heater tubes?

heater tubes are just so you have heating in your bus,
so if you want heating then get them , they do ones for performance exhausts.
im running j tubes on mine.
i do have a eberspacher heater though.

j tubes work better with performance exhausts

Had my Turbo Thomas hide away system fitted for a month or so, FANTASTIC :!: Clears everything, not like that nasty Empi crap I had on before, and a BIG bonus is it has dropped the heat by 20 to 30 degrees F.
As said before, they are a thing of beauty :D
