Exporting a Vehicle Abroad: Advice needed!

Post by 81dubber » Mon Aug 05, 2019 4:47 pm

Hi All,

I am about to permanently export a vehicle to Germany. The Buyer informs me that he needs the complete V5 to register the vehicle in Germany. He informs me that I just need a copy of page 3 of the v5 to state you have sold the car for export.
As I understood as it says In the v5,i fill in part 11 Notification of Permanent Export with Copy of Buyers address and send to DVLA.Buyer gets the rest of the V5 to register in their country.

Can any experts confirm who is correct as I am a tad confused

Tomas

When I sold my Audi Quattro coupe B166 KNP I followed the steps to the letter on the V5, as you have stated. I got the buyer to fill in his details and retained this portion to send off to the DVLA. I then gave him the remaining portion. He was able to register in Holland without any issues.

Follow the V5 instructions - keep the whole section about permanent export (it’s a tear out bit) and give the buyer the rest.

Complete date of transfer and country and send it to DVLA.

Job done !
