Iva advice.

Post by jjyoung » Thu Jun 20, 2019 10:03 am

Hi all.
Has anyone been to an iva vehicle inspection in order to gain registration with things like tie rod notches, dropped spindle or a front Porsche brake conversion??
I have all of these and I’m a bit worried to be honest..
Are these grounds for a refusal due to them being non standard mods or would the tie rods notches be the only real issue.
Thanks.

Do you mean the IVA test that kit cars have to go through? I can't imagine anyone has ever got a split through that. Your mods would not stop you registering your van in the normal way, but I'd imagine they would stop you from being mot exempt.

Sorry dougie I must be confused i thought it was an iva..
Yeah so my van was imported and i need to register and was told it will need inspecting first it but i have notched the front rails etc and was worried the kids may lead to a refusal or something equally as drastic.

They don't inspect every vehicle, so if you get selected they'll come and check it.
