Re: Full electric conversions.....
Did you see the article in the latest camper and bus mag? They had an article on a Brazilian bay that had been converted by a company using Tesla batteries. They reckon they’ll get about 250 miles to a charge out of it. Again though, the downside is that it’ll cost a punter 25-30k to convert on top of buying the base vehicle.
Still quite an interesting read though.

I did and it's great to see electric conversions in the mainstream press. My only complaint is the lack of photos and details about the conversion... if we knew more about the battery for example we could validate their "range is more like 250 miles" statement

Yeah wasn't many pictures of how they'd done it or the spec of the batteries but I guess they want to protect their methods for future business. Although at 30k for the conversion I can't see that many people beating a path to their doorKevin Sharpe wrote: ↑Sun Mar 04, 2018 1:15 amI did and it's great to see electric conversions in the mainstream press. Great thread and some interesting developments. Would possibly be good in the magazine as an ongoing article.

Great to see electric conversions in the 'mainstream' car magazines... this is a 12 part series by Chris Hazell one of our merry band of converters

Re: Full electric conversions.....
Forgive me but I couldn't see it in previous pages, but I assume you guys musty be aware of jehugarcia and his homebuilt electric samba conversion? Its done using old laptop batteries. Again sorry if you're all already well aware of him.

Its not for me and looks like a dangerous thing to do if you don't know what you're doing... but seriously interesting.
