Who still owns a bus they bought before prices went mental?

Post by NEO »

I bought Ruby in 2002 for £700. Doesn't look like you get much for that kind of money these days. Is anyone else out there in long ownership land?

I bought my first bus in 2001 for £3500.

There is no way I could afford one today.

Bought mine in 2002 for £6700 or £6900 can't remember without checking. I tried to haggle as any good Jewish boy would but the reply was "you didn't just drive 300 miles not to buy it"
I bought it
Top bus that I bought off a top bloke - Kieron if you're reading this it's still going strong

I remember years ago going to look at a double door panel for a mate, straight off the boat, OG paint, no welding needed, 1641 twin carbs and flew through the mot and up for £3500 and we tried haggling as we thought it was too expensive  Might have been off Anton?

I bought mine (15 window) in 2002 and shipped it from Australia to UK in 2003 - all for £6k (give or take a few quid)

I had also bought a 66 13 window whilst out there for about 2k iirc - plan was to ship that back too but had nowhere to park it so didn't bother :-/

Bought mine in September 2001. Although it was still £4k. Not that cheap for the time and probably not the best bus I could have got for the money, But I was desperate to get one and it fitted the bill.

Bought this in 1987 for £50. Picture was taken after we had done a little work (spent about £250ish to get on road), short sill, outriggers and kingpins was all that was required for MOT and on the road. When this picture was taken we were about to use Rosie for our first main holiday with her a two week camp in Wales.

You should probably ask what kind of condition those Buses were in too.

Bought our '62 in 1996 for £1850 but it needed sills and a bit of welding etc
