Wild berrys

Post by jayvanman » Wed Jul 12, 2017 1:57 pm

I can't remember seeing wild black berries etc last year and this looks like not a lot is happening.

Did I miss it last year or is something happening to our wild berries.

I see plenty of bees so I do t think its the lack of bees.

I picked some yesterday while walking the dog thru central France. Can't remember them being this early.

Last year the crop was quite poor for blackberries. The previous year we had a bumper crop and it was very early

Bushes round me are absolutely loaded. Long way off being ripe yet though. Elderberries look pretty plentiful too. Apple trees in the gardens locally though are pretty bare. Frost at just the wrong time got the blossom so little fruit.

This topic I did not expect to see on here........................I spent a couple of hours picking blackberries at the bottom of our garden as we do most years and they are big and early, we make jam and have a pie with apple at Christmas , I'm glad this is not an older generation thing as so many are missing out on free food, fresh and free, can't say you get much of this today.
It takes me back to a time when times seemed a bit easier and life was sweet...............BTW.....Ange did get stung so she was not to happy about that, ah well, s....e happens....

We have a bumper crop around here at the moment.
Had this for tea courtesy of my wife and children.

Hello John, spotted your van round our way other day, thought you might pop in for a cuppa, please do next time.
Not to sure if anyone outside of Trowbridge will know what or who Modeluxe was........except old duffers like you and I.
Yes, sound advice to Rob, I did mention it before a out the paint, I'd be more concerned with the front seat..........sit on that and you will get a prick in the bum..............probably the reason it's not been done...
Let's start a fund to get it painted to help Bob amd Julie , bless him..
