Forum upgrade

Post by paul_f » Sun Jun 14, 2015 3:05 pm

I have upgraded the forum today

There are a lot of new improvements and features, the main ones being
  • Uploading of photos is much easier
    Preview of posts
Soft delete moderation (so if posts are removed by accident they can be put back)
If you have any problems or errors please post up in this thread with as many details as possible (a screenshot would be great!)

There are few more changes I need to make so the board may go offline at certain points this week.

Cheers
Paul

Especially you and Steve for your work on the DB after the big crash a couple of years ago! Meant it was relatively easy to upgrade :D

As stated in my thread, upgrade looks good. Is it possible to have an "edit" button at the end of each post as well, rather than just at the top?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Paul. Nice work buddy. Done quickly too.
One thing I've noticed is that all non members have become moderators.

Looks good.

However (!) I always click on the "New posts" link. I am sure the old forum presented you with the list of all the subjects with new posts. If you then clicked on one it sent you to the latest (last) page of that subject. The new forum just takes you to the first page.

Quick links -> New Posts (does that not do the same as old forum?).

Yes in that it lists new posts - but as I said if you then click on a subject it goes to the 1st page of that subject, not the last page.

Not a major problem, just an observation that the new forum is behaving differently. Perhaps there is a forum preferences switch somewhere?

Click on the little orange envelope next to the thread title and it will take you to the next unread post, rather than the beginning

Nothing's really changed as far as i can tell, just looks a bit different.
