Re: Insurance

Just moved from RH who sent me an eye-watering renewal price to Classicline who were upfront about the level of risk this coming year (very low!) and gave me a cracking multi-vehicle price with more cover than RH. The company they use is known to me and have a good record of paying out when a claim ...

Re: Salt & pepper deluxe door panels

Good morning guys. It’s not a walk through model, the interior will be a so42 one. So I want only the deluxe door panels Hi John I'm assuming you are looking for cab door panels. You should know that most (all?) SO42 buses came with plain grey cab door panels as they were based on Kombis, not Micro...

Check the fuel pressure to the carburettor. This might be too high.
Can't remember but I think it should be 3 PSI.
That pump is fine for H30/31 carb. You only need lower pressure for Weber carbs like ICTs.

Re: Solex H30/31 problems

Looks like a stock H30/31 - the lever is fine. Most likely the needle valve in the float camber is not closing properly, possible due to crud in the fuel lines. Renew the fuel hoses, check the needle valve and remove and clean the idle jet which could also be blocked. And get rid of that useless pan...

Blimey - that is a mega bodge! New case I'm afraid. Paul Luxton in Newton Abbot had some good ones recently.

Re: engine rebuild

Yes BUT make sure the bottom end is in really good nick. The problem with putting a new top end on an old engine is that the barrels and pistons produce a lot of friction and heat for the first 1000 miles and that can trash the bearings down below. How do I know? I have rebuilt at least 8 engines wi...

Talk to Rick at Schofields. They do the whole bulkhead but might be able to press just the well part?

Re: Sundial windows wanted

Do you mean the 2182 westy-type Hehr louvre windows for factory microbus or the vertical divider type fitted to converted panel vans? Sundial used both types. The ones used on converted panel van I'm after Cheers Can't help with those I'm afraid, but come up on the Samba quite regularly. Might be w...

Look like you need a straight stick, 16mm ball, no locating pin. Mine are 22mm balls with locating pins so won't fit.

Re: Help identifying interior

That interior looks a bit like one that Devon conversions made for the Austin/Morris J4 vans. Your parents may have modified it the fit a split bus.
