Re: CUSTOM HARDWOOD INTERIORS?????

We're very pleased with the oak interior Daren and Tracey (Kustom Interiors) did for our bus last year.

You'll find some pictures and details of what they did for us on our blog site (mintybus.com)

Re: What would your Vehicle Document say if you built a Chesil?

A kitcar now has to pass a DVLA IVA test (was SVA) when built if not based on an un-modified chassis (a shortened beetle chassis is classed as modified).

My Chesil was built pre-SVA and says "VW Chesil Speedster" on the V5.

Re: 64 11-window

A long overdue update. We've split the work over two springs (using it in between) but thanks to Darren & Tracy at Kustom Interiors who made the wooden devon-inspired furniture and Katie at Totally Trimmed who did the rest of the interior we now have our dream bus interior. 8) I've also fitted the d...

Re: What company sells the best quality alternator pulley wheel?

I've used a SACO billet pulley since getting through numerous standard ones with the torquey Type IV in my other VW. Will be putting one on the bus once its bigger engine goes in too. The drive between inner and outer halfs is a substantial inch square :D . http://www.sacoperformance.com/images/prod...

I had speedflow.co.uk make some up which came next day. They beat speedycables (who were making some handbrake conduits) by a number of months....

Re: LOOKING FOR A FLASHER UNIT FOR 64 USA HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS

I have a 6v one that ran for years at 12v on my converted to 12v bus.
I recently simplified the wiring whilst switching to euro rear lights - due to moving to the creative indicator stalk - and didn't need it in there anymore.

any use to you?

Re: What causes a battery to make noises?

Jim, I don't think the noise is nothing to worry about. It is likely the noise the split charge relay coil makes when energised (yes, really!) - mine (also a smartbank) buzzes too. The smartbank keeps the two batteries connected for a period of time after the charger (e.g. alternator when engine run...

Re: remote servo

Runs great from the balance pipe of my twin carbs on my 1600 - I do use a one way value on the feed line though.

Re: Indicator Wiring Question

Phil, I'd say Left front Indicator: Black/White Right front Indicator: Black/Green Left rear Indicator/Brake: Black/Yellow Right rear Indicator/Brake: Black/Red Black = supply from brake switch Black Long = indicator supply from flasher (On the basis that this is a us switch so 3 wires are for the r...

Re: INDICATOR STALK QUEREY Please

I believe the 3 versus 6 wire reference is mainly referring to vans where the brake lights double as indicators - i.e. US spec. Here the brake live feed enters the indicator switch too and the switch disconnects it from the side that is indicating (as well as connecting the indicators that side) So ...

Re: twin leisure batteries charging issue - gurus please...

Assuming you have sufficient voltage reaching the battery (so, minimise your losses in your cabling, connections, relay) then smartbank will help maximise the charge you engine puts into your leisure battery when driving during a trip. But it won't work miracles. If your generator voltage is margina...

Re: twin leisure batteries charging issue - gurus please...

£235 for smart bank advanced, gauge, and relay. But it may not solve your problem. So check that your batteries hold a full charge via a mains charger and last as expected. Then worry about charging on the go. I considered sterling b2b chargers that boost voltage until I realised that for my particu...
