Re: Front disk brake options for stock beam running 15" steels…

Not cheap but I went for Csp front disks and one of vwjim remote servos. For my bus I'm working on at the moment though I'm going to try a servo with the drums first as wasn't that impressed with the Csp disks to be honest.

Re: Soft brakes - rear disks now fitted

Yes can't believe I didn't spot what they'd done before now. Also sorted the running. Realised I wasn't getting full throttle and didn't notice that you can adjust the rod on buttys throttle linkage, extended that a bit now getting full throttle it's like driving a different bus now. Just need to pa...

Re: Soft brakes - rear disks now fitted

Yep that's my plan. Will need to put off the mot for a week but better to get set up right. Then if still issues I know it's the new kit. Gives me a chance to try out the new flaring kit I've been practicing with.. Just very frustrating when you pay a professional to do a job, you trust them to do i...

Re: Soft brakes - rear disks now fitted

Right. Been under to check. Now bare in mind this set up was all fitted by a professional outfit a few years back (not anyone on this forum) and all I've changed is the rear disks I've a pic below of the plumbing. It all worked ok, but not as sharp as a mates but with the same set up. On reading up,...

Re: Soft brakes - rear disks now fitted

Hi made sure the nipple was at the top, but thanks for the suggestion.

I had a thought about a vacuum bleeder. Never used one before but it seems many others have better results with these over a pressure one, so may get one as they aren't too expensive. I'm hoping it is just air in the system.

Re: Soft brakes - rear disks now fitted

Hi Jim. Yes, been running the servo and dual m/c setup for a few years now. Did double check though and yes happy plumbed correctly as per the various diagrams. Is the bleeding procedure any different with rear disks? Tried the pressure bleeder and the old school 2 person method but still no better ...

Re: Soft brakes - rear disks now fitted

Cheers. Any way around it? With the amount of buses that seem to have rear disks, I guess there must be an answer.

Don't really want to have to remove everything and start from scratch.

Soft brakes - rear disks now fitted

Been working on the bus over the winter and thought I would finally fit the empi wide 5 disk set up I had stored. Yes, I know, it's empi but I had it anyway for a bargain price and I needed to replace parts on the rear anyway. Also have a remote servo fitted and Csp on the front. All fitted up, even...

Re: How to replace steering wheel shaft bearing/bush

Cheers Jim, there is no spring in there so that won't be helping and the lateral movement was just as bad with the wheel on. Ordered a kit and will fit/replace bits as needed.

Cheers
