Look through those pages, there are few to do with the shifter plate and bushes, helped me out...

Any VW suppliers do Gift Vouchers or National Vouchers?

Hi - I have done 25yrs at work 8O :bounce: My employer want to buy me a 'long service' gift - but for Tax Reasons they *have* to be Gift Vouchers - they cannot pay a invoice, give me cash etc for me as it then becomes taxable... Does anyone know if any of the usual VW suppliers do a Gift Voucher sch...

Re: Window 'defrost' vents blow fresh air through when drivi

Why not put the tubes onto the heat exhangers... You'll have toasty air blowing then 8) I just used 62mm paper/foil tubing, like the tubes in the tinware but bigger, it was a pretty easy fit. Or if you are getting cold draughts and don't want the heater, just tape up the ends with duct tape or somet...

Re: 6 simple maintenance questions before a road trip

I fitted a EMPI style quickshift plate to my gearchange, as well as changing all the bushes, and it totally transformed the gearchange - well worth the £8 or whatever they cost :bounce:

It reduces the 'throw' of the gearlever quite considerably.

Re: vacuum only distributor

A stock 66 year 1500 should have a SVDA dizzy(single vacuum, dual advance) as it has a vac & mechanical advance too... So i reckon you don't have the right dizzy for std parts if they dont fit... Mine doesnt have the short cap either..

Re: Electronic ignition

I fitted a PowerSpark to mine (simonbbc on ebay seems to be the distributor) as it was £28 and a pertronix was £70+ I couldnt justify the extra £££'s . Was overhauling ignition system anyway (as felt it was wasnt running 100% right under load), so a powerspark, new rotor & cap, and new plugs she now...

Re: Accelerator pedal pin!

Kevsplitty - did it drift out ok? - mine is *very* worn and not much of it left! The pedal wobbles about all over the place on the pivot. I really can't see how it will possibly drift out.... How did you get on with yours? I bought a new pedal pin (with circlips!) from Schofields at CamperJam ...
