Re: Sounds like i`m in a wind tunnnel!!

i`ll double check the gaps, but it isn`t really a whistling noise which you`d associate with small gaps.

Its more of a hoaqqqqqqqrrraaaahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh'.

All the seals round the windows and doors are brand new with no gaps to be honest.

Re: Sounds like i`m in a wind tunnnel!!

hmm - to be honest, there isn`t any sound proofing behind the headliner or front panel or under the cab floor mat, but i couldn`t se it making that much difference really!

I guess its an old vehicle and you just have to put up with the constant noise of a hurricane!!

Re: Sounds like i`m in a wind tunnnel!!

tried open and shut, redirected, etc - not much difference!

plastic covers may help, but then i lose my fresh air ventilation - not my preffered option in 28 degrees of heat!

I know its an old van, but its pretty loud!! i`ve got all new seals around the doors and window. The flaps...

Re: 1963 Sundial Split

Well, thought i`d finally do something about my roof rack - its been bugging me since i got it - although i quite like it, its bolted stright through the roof (!) and its rubs on the roof itself taking the paint off and causing rust thats difficult to get to to treat and sort out. So it all came off...

Re: 1963 Sundial Split

Engine was rolling roaded this morning - finally! After sorting out a couple of niggles - a blanking plug had fallen out of one carb causing it to only run on 3 cylinders on the idle circuit - thought it felt a bit lumpy! It went for a few runs - we upped the main jets to 124s as it was running a bi...

Re: Getting valve cover gaskets to seal!

well, i gave it ago - new cork gaskets, valve covers cleaned - i put a very thin smear of blue hylomar on the cover side, effectively sticking the gasket to the cover and then a small smear of grease on the head side of the gasket. 150 miles later and no leaks :D fingers crossed it stays that way! C...

Re: Squeaky Rear Suspension Bushes - arrgh!!

i`m pretty confident its thebushes on mine as if i spray wd40 round them while someone moves in the van, then the squeaking will stop (temporarily!)
