A very nice man !

Took my bus over to Nige Collier to get it finally valued this morning. Had a very pleasant drive to Nige’s place in the beautiful Peak District and was extremely impressed with the thoroughness he applied to valuing the bus. This really is an in depth service provided by SSVC and much appreciated. ...

Re: Fan shroud with heater outlets

You can also get choke blanking plates for the carbs. I had to fit a pair on my Dells. They’re the main culprit in fouling the shroud.

Also make sure your cylinder tins have the internal vanes - they’re critical in directing air over nr 3 and nr 1 cylinders.

Re: Sump oil temperature sender

Westach - got a spare dual oil pressure/temp gauge knocking around somewhere in the workshop. Will need a thermocouple which is available from Jim or Westach, but if you want it PM me and we can work something out.

Cheers

Re: Sump oil temperature sender

I have a thermocouple attached to my dipstick which then goes into sump. Can’t think of a better way to do it. Involved a bit of drilling dremelling on the dipstick but works really well. I’m using one of the dual aircraft certified gauges that VWJim sells http://www.vwjim.co.uk/ourshop/prod_1232108...

Maybe the nuts have just fallen off?
Or were never fitted in the first place !

Pic of either area will help to determine what’s going on. Seems suspicious that both would snap or fall off ?

Re: Two port fan housing

Here’s a very good website to have a browse through. The video links on installing the tinware are very cool 😎 in an 80’s mullet kind of way. http://awesomepowdercoat.com Ideal fan shroud is a trekker one. They’re rare, although Awesome will do you a fully refurbed one at a cost. Another very handy ...

Re: Two port fan housing

Definitely go OG - aftermarket may be nice and shiny, but it doesn’t help your engine.
