Servo options

I'm assembling the bits for my split and am at the brake stage. Front and rear is sorted in terms of discs etc but I need to know the difference between a standard servo mounting and remote servo. Is it just a question of having the servo in a different place and if so, what are they advantages ? Go...

Re: Wiper motor stuff

Also Google how to convert your wiper motor to 12v so you know that youve got the right kit for your specific motor.

Re: Wiper motor stuff

Hi Reuben - do you have 6v motor and need to fit a 12v armature ? If so, Schofields do a replacement specifically for the 65. C&C were saying theirs only went up to 64. Taking the motor apart is easy, doesn't really need a how to, just unclip the wire retainer if you have the SWF loaf type housing. ...

Re: Wiper motor stuff

Having a nose around the bus this evening I spotted a 12v flasher relay under the dash, amongst the mess of wires and dust. That makes me think that my van may have been previously converted to 12v. Before I install the new armature are there any bright sparks who could advise how to go about checki...

Wiper motor stuff

My 65 has a 6v SWF wiper motor and as I'm going to convert the bus to 12v I need a 12v wiper motor.

The armatures that C&C etc do only work with buses up to 64.

Anyone have any experience of converting a 65 wiper motor or using a later motor from a late 12v bus ?

ta

IRS using 944 bits

Being a bit of a thicko here and can't quite understand how to use 944 bits to have a disc set up at the rear. Could a kind soul explain what I need ? I'll be running 15" Fuchs replicas. I have sourced a late bay core and was originally going to go with Creative IRS kit and 5 x 130 drums, but can I ...

Re: Welding knowledge please !

Time isn't the critical factor, but a well done job is more important. SWMBO dictates that it must be RHD. The front clip below the windows has been repaired before, so it's a question of whether the panel can be saved or a new one goes on. The cab floor needs to be converted or replaced for RHD. It...

Hi Jim - if you want to set some teasers numbers wise I'm sure it may help tempt a few buyers ! How does this work btw - once the posters have given a commitment do they all contact you individually once the price is established ? I'm personally in no hurry, but happy to buy now at a decent price an...

Found John at VWWeldingServices in Salford. Old School who's been welding dubs since the 60's.

Not far up the road and knows his onions. Anyone used him ?
