Re: Best place to buy front tubs

Few pics of my TQR ones for you. Used their standoffs for the bench seat so haven't had to modify the seat base at all. Had to get someone to move the mounts down the side of the backrest to get that sitting 2" higher. Works well now. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170703/254a7893fbac8b41c96e05b...

Re: Short pop out window latch fitting

Start with the window open a couple of inches. Open the catch out fully and put it face down on a surface with all the screw holes pointing downwards. Now offer it up to the window and loosely screw the two holes to the mounting bracket that sits at 90 degrees to the frame. If you don't have this br...

Re: Good tyre combination

I'd try and get 195s on the rear if you can, or even 205s. It'll look beefier and fill the arch better even if you keep to a similar profile and rolling radius.

May be tight for clearance to the arch though so try with your 185s and then see how much extra you reckon you could squeeze in.

Re: Check straps

I think originally would have had a front check strap regardless of deluxe trim as that one is to allow the passenger door to open whe the cargo door is also open. On earlier buses the front cargo door pop-out has a 'medium spoon' latch which is shorter than the other five (long spoons) so that the ...

Re: Cargo door stops

Middle of the cargo door, then the appropriate place on the passenger door and short side to bump into those when they're open.

Unless I've missed something?

Re: Part Supplier - Recommendations

Schofields know their buses very well and are on average the cheapest so they usually get my business. They don't just know the part they want to sell you, they know the three alternative parts, what the differences are and why that one will fit your bus, which saves time and money on returning wron...

Re: To Deluxe trim or not....

I personally like your bus as it is.

If you do go for it, I'd do the sill trim (rocker spears) too. My bus had them and it really finished the look where lots of just beltline trim looks out of place.

I chiselled my old one off in the end. Took about an hour and obviously totally screwed the nut but it worked

Re: Removable cabinets

Some of the early Westy interiors were also removable so maybe look into those... Weren't the Westfalia's designed that the whole lot could be removed in minutes (well quite a few mins!) - they are all latched in with sliding bolts, wing-nuts etc.... pretty sure that's correct.... remember looking ...
