Re: " Trix " our 66 adventure continues.............

Been dodging the salty roads and won a beauty stealing a sunny afternoon by the beach roll on summer http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii119/brenralls/97B569E0-17B0-4772-B5F7-39AB05D60FC1.jpg Few little tweaks to gearbox adjustment and spring plates as things have bedded in but now set for season. ...

Re: 1967 Splitscreen Ride Height - Help Please!

Im 62” at the front to rail, there is room to raise if I want or lower. Tyres 185/60/14 std width beam, flipped spindles on Spax shock. I raised the steering box for safety as often caught it.

Re: 1967 Splitscreen Ride Height - Help Please!

Generally adjuster are put on to lower it.

I was like you though looking to raise mine marginally so put adjuster on but in a mid point.. ie when beam was in std position it sat at mid point on adjuster then welded in. just gave a little lift to tired torsion leafs..

I mounted a Firetec fire extinguishing system. Let's hope we never need it. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/gOPcjXuLYsnz8PU5Vb_dhuz_0-WOel82-s8dYCfK87ZQBYVpbyERCPfXdZogFbdKoZa_V88vMdBDYWrRh7vWPlsRMQusIcHiQF6hZwfZD4y3ffhRpoDkggxlprxbzqlrAno0bJbbncX4fgHZkqpqFP26HBl-IjWijQkAn4glBUhbi0A4BmrlSYDCcTkT0...

Productive day achieving the goal & in paint. Very please with the welds although some smooth right back decided to leave raised for added strength. http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii119/brenralls/64B66745-650E-4FB4-8FE0-B1B1D1D6E9CC.jpeg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii119/brenralls/C2038A0...

Blimey Bren!! I've never seen that happen before - that's a hell of a lot of work you've just pulled off there, and to take it all the way back to weld point - hats off to you 8O :bounce: - I think I would have cried when I saw this >>>> http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii119/brenralls/8CECC3BD-3...

Re: " Trix " our 66 adventure continues.............

Goal achieved 👍 Positioned beam and double checked all dimensions, then made final cuts to chassis rails. Didn’t fancy fully welding in situe so opted to clamp & tack weld then removed for ease, this would of been so much easier during the Resto when all floors were out including cross members but he...

Re: " Trix " our 66 adventure continues.............

Saturday was spent removing the two sections of chassis rail that go from the beam through the jacking point cross members to the natural std weld point. The battle was the jacking point area as these areas were new and had welded inside and out when the cargo floor was out. Was slowly slowly as did...

Re: " Trix " our 66 adventure continues.............

Heinsite yes to tight but 5 years back when replaced what was there rattled about and fell apart. So when I put new in thought it should be tight & believed what I had was the norm..

Live and learn and luckily no injuries by my mistake well only to the wallet.

Re: " Trix " our 66 adventure continues.............

Spring plate that failed was other side.

Both sides donut joint to inner spring plate was dry and tight but realistically weight of vehicle plates moved easily.
