Fit behind the pop top at the back of the bus.

Re: "flat" roof racks?

Still looking! Its like a normal roof rack that clamps to the gutters as normal but instead of a curve that kind of follows the roof line as it goes over the top, the base of this kind of roof rack is completely flat and only just sits above the roof in the middle. Hope that explains what I am looki...

"flat" roof racks?

Hi all, I have seen a few roof racks on buses at shows that have a very flat profile and lie quite close i.e. less than an inch at the peak of the roof curve - to the top of the bus but I can't seem to find them online for sale anywhere! They all seem quite high and curved profile so does anybody kn...

Re: Oil pressure range

Hi Jonny, I can tell you my experiences with my 2 buses - both 1600 standard engines. On start up from cold I usually get between 3 and 4 bar (approx. 3.5) and then after that it stays at about 1bar/1000rpm so at 3000rpm its 3 bar etc until its really warmed up and I'm on the motorway then that will...

Re: Crazy fanbelt issue?!

It's gonna be an alternator replacement job this week so I'll have a look again but I think I'm stuck with a 887.

Just out of interest, what are the correct diameters of the bottom pulley and a stock alternator pulley?

Anyone know?

Re: Hogging the middle lane

it happens a lot on the M6 too I can assure you! I hate it when I'm doing 60 in my bus in the inside lane (I can do 60 now I'm IRS'd up lol) then have to go into the outside lane to overtake someone sat in the middle lane at 55 then get back in front of them whilst indicating left to go back in the ...

Re: Crazy fanbelt issue?!

Ok, tried that and the 905 is still too big and the 887 is bang on with 4 shims!! Confusing even more lol What I did notice though while doing this is that is possible to pull the rear side of the alternator pulley (the one that is pushed on and held in place with a woodruff key) forward and backwar...

Re: Crazy fanbelt issue?!

I don't have any shims between the nut and pulley face so do you think that could be the issue? Somehow the two faces of the pulley wheel are not close enough together with the 905mm belt on because the outer securing bolt isn't tightening them enough? Kind of makes sense. I always thought you put t...
