Not done anything of the above magnitude, but have toured the west country & Norfolk, probably clocked up a few hundred miles in a few days each time, all perfect apart from a wire coming loose, and a fuse needing re seating... But as Jim said it is all down to prep, if you go in a van that you have...

My speedo now reads correctly for the MPH and the Milometer, there was a form on the Speedy Cables website to fill in some measurements for them to calibrate too, along the lines of making a mark on the road and on the tyre then measuring distances travelled for one rotation of the wheel, and I thin...

The K&N HP3001 as above, the HP1 have gone downhill in quality and up in price, there were quite a few recommendations for the K&N as a direct alternative.

Thorsten has a very good rep on here, I used Speedy Cables in Swansea, took them a little while but did a great job on mine. re claibrated to silly tyre size too so I now have an accurate speedo :)

Silicone Lube!!! :) and copious amounts of it, also if you put the rubber in a bowl of hot water to make it a bit more supple, but make sure you have gloves on when fitting as it needs to be hot hot water, as in from the kettle just off the boil.

Have not heard of any damage to cases, have used similar in pretty much all my cars over the years, quality has gone downhill a bit, seen some with the marking slightly off! not great when trying to time a car, I have a Scat one fitted at the moment and it is great, really tight fit but spot on.
