Re: 1776 Engine build

As Jim says, deep sump is more oil=good, and in air flow (and also has an extra set of cooling fins)=good, so win win, if you go for a 1.5ltr deep sump they only reduce clearance by about an inch or two, but I have never hit one on the floor (how low are you?). Karl_F, yes still run the standard str...

Re: 59 11 window project

So close... van looks great :D . Not 100% sure on the clutch, have you got the right cable in there? if there is no thread on the cable left to adjust it could be too long? first time I did mine I fully adjusted the cable and it looked tight, but still needed to adjust it up more to get gears... thi...

Re: Any recommendations for bodywork repair - W Sussex?

Ahh, that was you :) Nice bus! Saw another with a bus with an ambulance sign on the roof while I was stuck in the roadworks on Albion Way last weekend too. Thanks, had a quick look over your SC when it was at Sainsburys, looked very nice, is it new to you? as I have not seen it around before.. The ...

Re: Any recommendations for bodywork repair - W Sussex?

Not used them myself, but http://www.autocolourworx.com/ in Cowfold maybe? A friend has used them and said they were good, or possibly contact Jez @ http://www.carreraperformance.com/ in Monks Gate, as if they could not do it I am sure they would have a good contact for bodywork. Any good recommendations for North Devon? Hoping to head down that way mid Sept for a week. I see most of the previous posts are from a few years ago so not sure if the sites are still good? :-(

Re: Towbar advice sought

Not 100% sure, but there are loads of lowered vans on here with trailers (MarkP & Gerry for example), think the Autocraft towbar is good, I guess it depends a little on your trailer for ball height etc...) Try here... viewtopic.php?f=8&t=77632&start=4275

Re: Weird noise and handbrake cable routing on straight axle conversion

Do you have the handbrake extension tubes on the back plates if it is straight axled? I should not be so tight against the spring plates that it applies the brakes!. Do you have a photo showing how the cable is routed?

Re: Suppliers of front lower trailing arms for narrowed

I see, that makes much more sense  , It definately looks like a local machine shop is going to be your best escape route for a quick turn round on that one... especially if this procedure has been carried out in the past, should just be a case of knocking out the roll pin, an easiout to get th...

Re: Suppliers of front lower trailing arms for narrowed

Machined for a narrow beam? not sure I follow.... How Narrow is your beam? and is it early/late/bay etc, may be someone with something, Maybe worth trying Creative Engineering to see if they have something, or if it is just the lower stud for the shock then maybe a local machine shop to drill that o...
