Re: 67 wiper motor 12v

A Bug 12 volt motor is a different animal so don't go down that route.
Should you subsequently decide to go down the voltage dropper route I have a NOS 6 volt motor available.

Re: Autojumbles....

Just had a walk round Bristol Volksfest autojumble. Out of 30 odd stalls almost all the aircooled stuff was bin fodder. Sad sight really :( Mostly T4 and T5 bling. Unfortunately the Bristol show clashed with Bad Camberg, so it was a no brainer for me to go to Germany on a £35 return Air Miles fligh...

Re: Information from VW service book wanted!

I've got VW's Europe wide dealer address lists from '64 and '65.
There is only one place listed for Edinburgh in both of them:
Croall & Croall
York Lane
Tel: Edinburgh Waverley 5591.

Re: 65 wiper motor switch needed - any ideas ?!

Your September '64 built Bus is by definition a '65 "model year" Bus. Therefore the one year only switch I have mentioned above is what you would have had fitted, so everything should work, including the self parking. The pre August '64 motors did not self park, that is why they only have two termin...

Re: 65 wiper motor switch needed - any ideas ?!

The 4th "terminal" isn't a brass tab like the others, the earthing is done via the body of the motor when it is bolted in place.
At the top of the thread you said the terminals you had were 54d, 31b, and 54, which is the same as the diagram.

Re: 65 wiper motor switch needed - any ideas ?!

The switch you need is a one year only one, part number 211 955 511 C. The earlier switches (easier to find) won't have the third terminal that you need.

If you are going down the repro route this one looks so much better and in keeping than the Smiths one you linked to:

Albeit it costs more.

Re: Where can I get a heavy duty pallet (for an engine) from

Builder's merchants.
Also, builders at work on neighbouring houses always have left over pallets after deliveries of bricks/blocks etc. Often used to top off a skip of rubbish.
