Re: What is this noise?

Gearbox mounts? I had the same when I lifted off the gas, new gearbox mounts solved it.

Yes you can, ive done it using the bush from Heritage, Knock the old bush out using a small socket the same size as the old bush & the new one should more or less just push in, no drilling needed, the new bush is just very thin.

Re: Door Cards

Ive used 3mm grey Foamex on mine, completely waterproof, should be available from any sign company as its generally used for sign boards, shouldn't cost you much more than £20 for an 8' x 4' sheet & can be cut to shape easily with a stanley knife.

Take a bit of your old stuff down your local tropical fish centre. Have you finished putting the rest of your van back together already?

Re: Adjustable spring plates

Unless anyone knows different I would hazard a guess that they are produced by the same supplier with different mark ups being added on by the respective companies. Mine were to fit beetle IRS so I dont know if that makes them more expensive than straight axle, cant really see why it should!

Re: Adjustable spring plates

Sounds like you got a bargain, they charged me £275 + postage. A page of instructions wouldn't go amiss for that sort of money. Ive put the shortest shocks available from VW heritage on the back of mine, they were cheaper than the T2D ones & seem to be ok now ive reset the adjustable springplates. D...

Re: Adjustable spring plates

Just fitted T2D ones on mine although the rubber doughnuts supplied had CE (Creative Engineering?) marked on them, no instructions with thm either! I fitted mine in the same position as the ones I took off & ended up with a very bumpy ride & a loud knocking as I presume the shocks were now too short...

Ive got the 14'' kit on mine with a dual circiut master cylinder & mine drag a bit but when you pick up speed the pads adjust themselves out & the noise stops. I couldn't get a sensible answer why it was doing this so I have just left it. Been on for nearly a year slightly annoying but not a major i...
