Re: Oil temp question !

I generally saw 90-95 deg on my old engine with sim spec. Loaded up with 4 adults, a baby and all the pram and the like. 65-70 mph ish.

That was on a dip stick sender and gauge (both VDO).

Re: leisure battery or normal one?

Hello Buzzers,

I'm running a Numax leisure battery, but the boat type where thay are also expected to crank the engine over. No problems with charging or time it lasts.

Re: Rear suspension set up's

Cheers gent's, I've fitted the Speedshop Mid mount (told it was a Gene berg rep type one), new rubbers, Sway away's, superdiff and the like. I may well wait and see if anything else needs uprating. That rear engine subframe looks like a good idea, just could be a tight fit on the turbo system/manifo...

Re: Ram Air Scoops

I recently made up a scoop that sits between the chassis rail's of the rear suspension, it has two pipes that feed cold air into the back of the fan via 2 slots I've made in the steel under the tank and bent them up slightly (so it can be welded up if required to go back to stock. I havn't used it y...

Re: Maybe a daft question - Bay Devon pop top to a split?

Yes, that's the one. It has a frame that is static on the van roof and the roof part of it is like a cap that lifts up square.

If that's the case, great news. Think I've found one for reasonable money. Just hope it's in ok nick, though you can get all the bits for them still.

Maybe a daft question - Bay Devon pop top to a split?

Now I've seen the dormabile roofs coverted from Bay to split, but is there any reason why a Devon one would not fit or convert? I'm sure I've seen pictures of them on splits and wondered if they are much narrower on the split?

Anyone converted one? or is it a no go?

Rear suspension set up's

Hello,

Have any of you got any fancy suspension set ups to help getting off the line?

Mine's been S/A'd and apart from shorter KYB GR2 gas shocks, that's it.

Will bottoming out be a issue?

Re: Splitty steering...interesting

Is the swivel pin worn. Have a look underneath when someone else is operating the steering wheel, left to right. If the pin is worn, mine wobbled, side to side. Easy fix if you get a reamer off ebay (£20) and a kit (£30) and a couple of hours work.

And WHS, check the play in the steering box.

Re: Any one fitted an Autometer Cylinder Head Temp Gauge?

Not specifically for gauge's but the CHT sendor for the EFI system is recommended by CB to go either in the hole boss where the clip goes (clip on rocker covers) if you are using Bolt on covers or just above it if your using clip on's. I've been recommended to drill the lug on top of the head (not s...
