Re: 2332cc to turbocharged/EFi build

It has a Magnaspark dizzy, though in reality it's a crank trigger. You sync it to the computer at tick over and at full advance (30 deg at standstill). The computer measures the boost from the map sensor and retards/advances on what it see's. I think my map backs it off as much as 22 deg. You can ch...

Re: 2332cc to turbocharged/EFi build

Hello Jim, not wanting to highjack tuffty's build thread (but it's the same basic kit as his bar the injectors/throttle bodies/timing). It's the easytune efi kit. Really impressed by it actually. When I looked at it I did hear some "supposed" issues with it being not great quailty and problematic to...

Re: The "New" great oil debate. Turbo engines.

Thanks Gent's, comment's most appreciated. The CB kit comes with it's own software and I can see the head temps seem ok. I am running NGK D7EA plug, gapped at 28 thou, but I think this is also the plug used for NA car's (044 heads). Maybe the det has something to do with the hotter plug (I was alway...

The "New" great oil debate. Turbo engines.

Hello all, Asking this because I'm having a few oil heating issues on my new engine and wanted to asked opinions. I've now got the 2110 engine in and up and running with it's CB easy tune turbo kit on it. Running lovely but a little warm. It will stay at 100 deg if I don't use the boost and will get...

Re: Race Axles

I'm not in the BWA (yet) but I was told that I might get away without them as long as I didn't do any harsh starts with my originally planned 2110 (around 120 bhp). Things got a bit mad in the engine department and was told by Jim that they would be a requirement. I've also heard that the surface at...

Thermotec heat wrap.

How much would I need of this stuff?. It's for a CB turbo header and J tubes, so I think maybe the amount used to wrap a A1 sidewinder header would be close to the right amount. This stuff isn't cheap so want to but enough, but not too much!! Thinking of getting the graphite one, any thoughts? Good ...

Re: Something snaped on the line at big bang santapod!!!

When I was searching around for my uprated axles, I heard stories of previous production ones being a little brittle. Maybe you had a set of those unknowingly. I got mine from Bear's and he reported the same and that it had been addressed now. I did ask about sway-a-way or Bugpack ones and Paul (bea...

Re: 2332cc to turbocharged/EFi build

http://www.flickr.com/photos/46726182@N08/4563077590/ Here's a picture of the sump end. Its at a slight angle and so is the centre of the turbo part. It's not quite verticle but seems to drain fine. I did have to shave a small amount from the drain boss to get it to fit but there is plenty of meat o...

Re: Almost time to join the club!

RE performance in Bury is good, Rob Waddington at Minisport in Padiham is good too (though I always thought the dyno read a little "high") the set up was very good.
