Throwing fan belts.

Hello all, Bit of a problem and want to sort it before is cause's a bigger one. Have a uprated engine in the bus and despite best effort's and correct measurement, it throws the belt off once in a while. I adjust it 12mm play as per manual and have checked all is square (or round!!) and in line. It ...

Re: 2332cc to turbocharged/EFi build

looks mean.................how'd it go???? :D Its very fast but needs VE correction and a fiddle with the maps. CB performance supply a very limited instruction manual but a nice chap off of Vzi sent me a link to company that actually makes the program and EMS. The manual is 64 pages long and tells...

Have you tried Frost's? Think they did some last I looked at the book.

Manifold grey. Might have been made by Eastwood or Por.

Re: Transmission losses.

Thanks all, I would think it would be fairly accurate (saying that, I am basing it on the fact that it's pretty new and they did only power run it and check the fueling, not swing the dizzy and laod it up to make them look good. I've seen that before only too often on rally car's!!). Going off 15-20...

Re: Transmission losses.

Hello K, Yes that's the idea but didn't want to rush or risk anything too much. Awaiting the new pulley and re-fitting the dump valve tomorrow. Hopefully another run next week. Looking to perhaps get some 1/4 miles in Aug/sept if I can but unsure what event's are on then. Can't seem to find anything...

Transmission losses.

Had the bus on the rollers today to check the fueling was fine on the new installation. It was and all was good, so we did a power run on 9 lbs of boost. 169.16bhp at the wheel's, nice. I asked about transmission loss and he said around 10 bhp. Now I thought that was very good (I thought almost too ...

Re: oil filler cap popping off ?

WHS really, I suspect you may need to up the breather system anyway. I use the CB tower, venting into the airfliter and one through a breather filter. Fed from the rocker boxes and fuel pump plate.

Re: Engine building

I had a 1641 Tp before my current engine. I put twin 40 DRLA's on it (there were no 36's available at the time). It had a C25 cam, a proper 009, gas flowed heads with standard valves and decent small bore exhaust/manifold. It went well for a 1600 and pull ok with a few adults in and kit you carry fo...

Re: kühlspeed Ram Air Scoops (50 - 63)

Have to say, these are top quality and have seemed to introduced a fair amount of additional cool air into my bus. Was having a few problems with engine bay temps and these have deffinately helped, I'm seeing 10 deg reduction in oil temp so must be better in actual air temp in the engine bay now. Mi...

Re: 2332cc to turbocharged/EFi build

Cheers mate, I'll take a look at the fittings again. Know "tow in surf", as that's another sport of ours (family). Never actually done it here (the towing in!!) but have in the south of France. Our "local" haunt is Hell's mouth, Abersoch. But it's still 2.5-3 hrs from here!! The software is dodle, s...

Re: 2332cc to turbocharged/EFi build

Hiya, I have a autometer boost gauge, T'd of the wastegate feed AND you can select to read the boost on the management software. Jim, got a chum to have a look at the laptop for both boost and timing retard as I was "applying some load officer" to make sure it wasn't doing anything daft. The Automet...
