Re: Original headliner (or not) ?

Yes and No. This pattern features in my Devon Kombi and is original. That is: the Kombi is supplied by VW to Devon with no headlining. The headlining is fitted by Devon. If you can source the material let me know because it's one of my next jobs.

Re: Birth Certificate for Brazilian Fleetline 67

Hi Mike, Chassis number is probably about right - late 1970 ish (probably a '71 model). Can't help with colours unless you can find a build plate on the van somewhere. Generally paint codes etc. are all on there but often in code. If you find a plate with lots of numbers on it this will be what we o...

"uneconomical to restore". All busses are uneconomical to restore - they are a labour of love, a money pit and grounds for divorce - live with it or without it !

Re: Devon - Mini Awning for Cargo doors???

The original design is Canterbury Pitt - not Devon, but can of course be fitted to any van. Here is my original item fitted to my Devon - (ironically). http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8492/8426783635_239df21ea7_z.jpg There were 2 versions. As per the picture for fixed roof models featuring 2 long stra...

Re: does anyone know of or own EEJ 46E.

Sorry, no trace of it on the SSVC Van Register. The registration number can be traced to Haverfordwest and obviously 1967 but I can't tell you any more than that, I'm afraid.

Re: Parts manual in downloadable pdf?

From memory the Parts list is 650 pages, the WSM is 900 pages, the drivers handbook is 64 pages. You get the whole lot on a disc for £15 - £20 from memory.

Re: I should know the answer to this BUT dooooh!

We tow our Pan (bigger than the Puck) with 1600cc single port no problems at all. A long uphill drag will slow us down a bit. Better to ensure your brakes are good enough for modern traffic (stock drums with servo).

There is one for sale in the "VW stuff for sale" bit of this forum at the moment. £60. I cant vouch for it's condition though. Unashamed plug for Peter Good. www.volksgoods.co.uk He has helped me out many times over the years - he is the electrical guru! I see he is advertising new ones for £55 on h...

Re: 6 volt starter and 1600cc engine

Hi John, If you are still operating at 6 volts then it should be straight forward - ie all the same. If you are running 12 volt there were several options when you had your engine changed ie may have changed to 12v starter and flywheel, may have just kept the 6 volt starter and flywheel (ran mine li...
