Re: fuel gauge.

I've never stripped one Terry, but I would start with undoing all the screws on the back and see if that releases anything.

Someone may know how the chrome bezel comes off and hopefully will post.

Good luck

Re: fuel gauge.

I've never seen one new available, but remember the back has a slight radius to take the contour of the dash. Flat 52mm bezels are available but obviously won't sit right on the split dash.

Re: Visual engine check (please)....

I can't see from the photos Miles, but because you mention small jubilee clips, just a reminder not to use jubilees on fuel pipe. Get some proper fuel pipe clips for this.

You probably knew that anyway, but just in case.

Good luck and merry Christmas.

Re: Cleaning / sealing petrol tank

Is your engine running? If so, take it for a good run and fill the tank with petrol. Your plastic filter will be enough to keep any nasties from the pump and carb.

If it runs well, just jump in and drive to The Garden of England!

Merry Christmas

Re: protecting inner box sections

Hi Tim, The dog legs would in most cases have the manufacturers primer on them, so do have some protection. If you haven't fitted them yet, then I would clean of the edge to be welded and spray it with some weld thru primer. After fitting to the van you can shove a long Waxoyl tube inside the arch. ...

Re: Has anyone seen these ?

The interesting thing for me is they are apparently made up in the same configuration to standard spindles, rather than all the pressure in the wrong direction. Very interesting and could be a great alternative.
