Re: Winter tyres…

I have Continental VancoWinter 2 Winter tyres on all year, for the past 3 years. Just about to replace the rear ones. 10K miles a year.

I have 195/70 R15, van is slightly lower than stock and 195/80 R15 were too big.

Re: Ebay interior

For a non-bus project I've veneered using 1.5mm oak veneer onto poplar ply using Titebond III and a vacuum clothes bag + vacuum cleaner. Don't use bags from the £1 shop, use a decent £5 bag (I used one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0042JSKDY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage...

So was it only the cheaper Devonette that had the cargo door curtains mounted on the doors with lower wire rails? Also the RHS curtains look like they have upper and lower rails?

Re: Curtain measurements please?

Thank you! That's the picture I was missing....! However next question. Presumably the silient gliss rail on the cargo door side should continue through to the middle of the front? On my bus the RHS has the gliss rail non-stop to the front. The LHS starts at middle front but stops at the b-pillar. I...

Re: Curtain measurements please?

This is confusing. The original pictures on this thread http://www.ssvc.org.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=107096 show no curtains on the cargo doors, they are like the ones on the picture at the top of this thread. http://i619.photobucket.com/albums/tt273/type21f/Grandma%20and%20Grandad%20Haywoods%2...

ted698 wrote:And also just to confirm, there ARE two curtains to the cargo doors, one per door.
So should the curtains be attached to the top of each cargo door? In the old photo above the flapping curtain isn't. Is that old photo actually showing 2 curtains just close to each other rather than one curtain?

Re: Curtain measurements please?

Can someone confirm that there should be a cord stretched along the side to hold the bottom of the curtains in - as per this pic? If so has anyone got pics of the end fixings for said cord and where they are?

Re: Curtain measurements please?

^^^ so that's how my side curtains should be. I have 2 separate ones attached to each cargo door. Always thought it was a silly idea .....

Re: Dormobile interior edge trim - where to get?

Nope, nothing to show for several hours searching Graham! Once I get to that part of my interior build I'll probably machine up edge trim in oak. Although I do wonder whether it is worth finding out how much it would cost to get something custom-extruded. If enough of us want a set it may be worth l...

Re: Winter Tyres and Snow Chains

They really are like thick socks! Hardly add anything to the tyre size. Well worth it, I keep 2 pairs (you need one for each wheel for rear wheel drive) permanently in the bus and a pair in the family car.

Re: Winter Tyres and Snow Chains

I've not been to the Alps (with the bus, have done in normal family MPV) but run winter tyres all year here on the bus... ..and Snowsocks in our snow when needed. Snowsocks are brilliant. The French have allowed snow socks for the past few years so you don't *have* to have chains. Chains are only re...

Re: Do you have a Daily Driver?

Every day for 6+ years, all weathers, 10,000 miles a year.

Use it for holidays, band stuff, DIY building stuff. Not sure how I would manage with a "normal" car...
