Re: Congratulations to Trevor Sharpe!

Well done Trev! People don't realise how hard it is to run a 13 let alone 15,16 etc and to run a 12 in a street driven bus is awesome I'm sure he will be in the 12s very soon.

Re: fitted new engine but makes a horrible noise at low revs

Excessive end play, wrong flywheel so grinding in gearbox, wrong style clutch, tinware rubbing on pulley wheel.

Re: 2332cc turbocharged/EFi build plus nitrous

Nice work dude, that looks wicked. Loving the staging brake  Out in time for Big Bang per chance? Orb Find out if it works tomorrow :) Yes I hope to be there for a bit of testing. That looks amazing mate, top quality work on a proper bus! Love it! Cheers, the cage work isn't mine but everythi...

Re: 62 15 Window project - Tdi Power!

roll cage is looking really neat, nice and flush and tucked right up against the bodywork, some cages look awful as they don't hug the lines of the body. love the nose piece through the ashtray that's pretty trick :)

Re: Pushrod end missing. Possibly stuck in lifter?

id be checking valve geometry if your putting different length pushrods in.
either the original damaged ones were incorrect or the new ones will be wrong you have to check or it will do it again down the line.

Re: what's the chances of matching up white?

Don't know about white but I got some paint mixed by a paint shop as requested and they mixed me satin black not Matt black and I've just wasted 3 hours of my life spraying the wrong paint in my cab area.
Make sure you do a small test patch first when you get the match made up.

Re: 62 15 Window project - Tdi Power!

You can still race just not in any 'proper' classes, RWYB is fine and you've already done more than most who do :)

Re: Leaky brake switch

Yeah wrap some ptfe around the thread and it should stop the leak. I've read that PTFE isn't a good idea - it can shred during tightening and contaminate the fluid with debris. Only if you wrap too much around the thread and wrap it right to the bottom, the amount that could come off is so small it...

Re: 62 15 Window project - Tdi Power!

Just a quick question regarding roll cages... Anyone know the specifics as to why foot plates are used on some cars and not others? I am planning on fabricating boxed feet approx 25mm high by 60mm x 60mm for mine but noticed some cars just weld directly to the floor or chassis?? Ang ideas as to why...

Re: Adding a turbo

You'd be better off just updating the motor to something a little bigger. You could just slap a turbo set up on it (it's been done) but to do it properly you need to think about balancing the bottom end, lowering compression etc etc as these old standard motors don't like being revved much past 5k a...
