Re: Chassis cleaning

Yes wire brush cups are the easiest way, though they do not get into the nooks and crannies; you can get inside the chassis rails, but it is hard to do the bottom of them, also the floor supports round the gearshift tube are hard to do. It is easier if you sandblast it, though it is messy and you ne...

Re: 56 on ebay - is it a scam?

I think it might be legit, though it is a private listing in eBay (they can put the price up by shill bidding). The ad checks out with what is on the DVLA website. It is rusty, and there are no real pictures underneath, except the front. Looks like it has been parked outside. 1600 single port with 0...

Re: How low can you go...eeek low garage!!

Anyone got a lowered bus that live's close to Dom? May be able to 'try before you buy'? Hey Choc, if I see that Lyles TV panel about, I will ask him. Isn't there a benefit to having a lowered bus, cheaper ferry prices for example (under 1.83cm), though multi-storey car parks might be interesting (g...

Registering a bus from Europe...is it easy??

All these new changes at dvla are making my head spin :drunken: I have registered busses in the past, it was easy, just went to Sidcup house, with the right paperwork. Now I am not so sure, as everything has changed and most people talk about registering busses that are brought in from the US. Now I...

Re: Countdown 3 days, and need your advice

yes modified sine-wave (cheap) inverters do make some electric equipment hum e.g. low energy lightbulbs and tv's If you only going to use 38w, then 50w inverter is enough, though I would go for a 150w one, otherwise your inverter will flatten your battery quicker, as it needs more power to work. We ...

Re: How low can you go...eeek low garage!!

Thanks NIk, I did once measure a 58 that I had IRS'd but long since forgotten what the height was.

Has anyone done any measurements on the height of their bus?

I have most rear end components for straight axle or irs, but don't have any dropped spindles as yet.
Cheers,

Dom.

Re: How low can you go...eeek low garage!!

Or a side hinged door!!! :D Hi, I don't know if this is the problem but in my case it was the garage door, when opened I still had 6" above. change the garage door to a roller shutter. Goes in perfect now Yes they are both sensible solutions, but in this case the house is rented and I know I cannot...

How low can you go...eeek low garage!!

Hi, just got myself a house with a garage, though the only downside is the garage is a bit low. Now I don't have any van here, and the height I have measured is 185cm / 73 inches to the top of the opened garage door. None of my busses are lowered and I never had any problem with clearance, but now I...

Re: Lost all drive.

if it is a repo drum, well I have heard of a few people
that have had stripped splines on the drum resulting in no drive.
