Hi,

check that you are using the right brake lever on the brake shoe. Looks it is too far to the right.

Re: can you just turn an IRS bus on the splines?

you should relocate the rear shock mounts if you lower it.
I don't think dropped spindles add track to the front, unless you have empi 5's I don't think it will be a problem.

Re: BWA Power Question...

Careful or you will get hooked! Good luck! Thanks, well I have a type 4 from a 1700 fuel injection 411, did have 2 litre heads barrels and pistons etc. but sold then when I was skint!. Am I right in thinking that the 1700 puts out about 75hp, and the 2 litre 90ish. So it sounds like you have to tun...

BWA Power Question...

Hi, I was wondering what sort of BHP and Torque needed to get in. Say I have a early panel, there is no interior, straight axle and lowered (if that makes some difference to E/T times - air resistance). I know gearbox ratios and tyre size will affect performance, but there must be a minimum amount o...

sounds like carbs not set up properly and timing out.
Do you know what type of oil cooler you have?
Have you got the time to post up a photo of the engine?

Re: Tools for the road

I started off have some basic spanners and screwdrivers under the font seat. I found that it was a pain in the.... to get them and ended up with a small tool box in the back with almost everything you need including a bottle jack and both 36 and 45 sockets. I all my years driving a split I have had:...

Re: New 'unknown' gearbox fitted, drives fine but got a knoc

I once had a bus with loose/stripped spring plate bolts. It used to knock if you used to pull away to sharpish. If the front mount is loose then it will knock when accelerating/decelerating. I drove a bus that was so bad, you could take it out of 3rd. gear just by blipping the throttle. My bet is we...

Re: Tyres-just plain confused

4 1/5 x 15 wheels.

I was wrong about the wheel size, as if your bus is made in Australia, then all busses had 15's

Re: Tyres-just plain confused

if your bus is a 67, then it would not originally had 15 inch wheels on.

So you could have beetle wheels or earlier bus wheels, both 15s.

Easiest way is to put a picture up on here.
