And as if by magic a loose wiper switch tightened and cleaned seems to have done the job! It would appear the retro sound stereo was earthed on the switch too. It’s been moved and now everything’s back to normal.

I have a 1776 with twin 40’s. If you’re keeping the reduction boxes I’d go for a stock 1500sp on 185 tyres. Was the best (read: problem free/bulletproof!) set up I’ve ever ran, albeit on another bus.
