Not sure if this is correct as I haven't had time to check it out yet but I picked up some of the bay window pipes which go from the heat exchangers at DubFreeze and asked if they would be suitable. The chap told me that beetle ones were the sort i was after but that depended upon some small section...

wilgartw that's well impressive. I am trying to decide if should follow your example or save a whole heap of time sandblasting. I guess if you do it yourself by hand you know exactly what has been done and there is no chance of the disaster mentioned in the above posts. Did you use nitromors as I no...

Heater box bolts

Just started to strip down my engine for the first time and have only got as far as the heater boxes before reaching my first decision. The bolts which hold on the heater boxes (clutch side) to the head are rusted and with lots of spray I have been able to turn them but the whole thing is turning, i...

Gnarly, I guess the price may have gone up in the New Year as it was only October 2004 when I got my bus, seems a fairly hefty hike though!! I have to say I worried about the credit card part but I decided to keep my fingers crossed and just emailed the details including chassis No, card details etc...

Engine Rebuild

Hi folks a few idiots guide questions if I can about engine rebuilds. I have a 1500cc engine which I am hoping to pull out and rebuild. My main concern is availability of parts etc so I'll be giving the SSVC parts people a call first. I have watched bugmevideo engine tear down and rebuild to see wha...

I think you can get them from Maplin electronics cheap as chips. Try looking at order code AW69A on their website as I was told this is what I was after when I enquired a few weeks back.

1500 Engine

I have a feeling that the 1500 engine in my camper is not in the best of health. One of the spark plugs is cross threaded and I can only get it in a couple of turns. Is it ok to run with this in the short term until I can get the engine out (the plug which came out was covered in oil!!!). My main qu...

Hi, I'm having exactly the same problem and whilst I don't want you to go out and buy them all up before I do I have had an email today saying that they sell them at www.karmannkonnection.com so give them a call and they may be able to help. If not then I'm afraid we are both stuck as I have asked q...
