Polishing Aluminium and Chrome

Does anyone have a tips for polishing aluminium and chrome and keeping it nice and polished once it's done? In particular my deluxe trim looks like it hasn't been polished in years but I appreciate that if I get it nice and shiny then within a short while it will have oxodised and will become dull a...

Guess lots of car shops sell it but i got some from Frost yesterday with a few other bits I ordered. Hadn't realised other people on here were using it but thought I would give it a go so it's good to hear that it does the trick :D

Anyone got contact details (telphone probably best) for BoxWagen? Tried looking on their website but it's under construction! Just in case they read this it may be an idea to add your telephone number for the short term on the coming soon page until the site is up and running as I'd really like to t...

Just seen that I may not need to fork out for alloy wheels as some one has some 365 wheels. Where can you get these from and are these to only non alloy option?

CSP/Boxwagen Front Disc Upgrade

I'm thinking of upgrading (after reading a previous post on here) to dual circuit brakes, keeping drums on the rear but maybe putting discs on the front. I know that a few of you have done this so I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on how it improves your braking and also would welcome any advi...

Sorry, I'm not sure if we are confusing one another here. I was just thinking about a pipe (cardboard pipe) which runs from the air cleaner to the exchanger is this not the pre heat pipe to the air filter? The exhaust, exchangers etc etc are all on so I tought I'd just have to connect this tube up i...

Engine Movement

Sorry for all the questions today folks but I am just trying to satisfy in my own mind things are ok with my bus, anyway..... I was attempting to tune my carb yesterday and noticed that when I opened the throttle to give a blast of revs that the whole engine moved a little, sort of tilted (only 1/4-...

Thanks. Pre heat pipe to the air filter is this what it attaches to the heat exchanger? I guess this explains that bit of metal "pipe" at the front of them does it? I have some pipe ready to connect but my bus has never had it attached so I wasn't sure where it went to!!! I presume it isn't a proble...

Heat Exchangers

I have managed to get my hands on a pair of heat exchangers off a 64 beetle which has been stored in a garage (and unused) since the 70's so they are in great condition and what I believe may be genuine VW (is there any way I can tell this?). I looked last night and couldn't think of any reason why ...

Timing depends upon what dizzy you have but if you have a standard vac advance and not an 009 the chances are you can set it to 7.5 BTDC at static. However, look at the number on your dizzy and then look at the website below. Once you have found yours in the list select it by clicking in the right h...

If I don't ask the stupid question then I'll never get the answer so is that what that screw thing on the drivers side just in front of the seat does, allows the heat through or not? Or am I thinking of another bit in which case what does that do. Can't find it in a manual or anything so maybe someo...
