i just found this thread, I had forgotten about it. ill get the finished pic asap and post it for you to see. its still running well, and dispite wanting to replace the kadrons with a "better" set of carbs,, they are working well so - why fix it?

So I thought I'd post an update, the engine has been in for a while now and is run in, I really like that it has been dynamicaly balenced it feels alot smoother than most other vw engines I've driven. I've now put a vintage speed exhaust on after a brief spell with an a1 sidewinder that the gf said ...

just take the original bearings to local bearing and seal shop ( they do exist) and they should be able to match them cheap enough , you will be surprised how cheap "non VW " bearings are

so i have been running the engine for a while now and I really like it, you van tell that it has been balanced as its soo much smoother than a stock engine and this really makes a difference in the driving style. with a lovely sound when revving the engine . I still cant get it to idle correctly on ...

I might be interested in camping there but I have a general camping pass as do my two friends, would we just be able to camp there?? It would help with numbers and two of the vans are splits - I don't know what the other is

i have a mild 1776cc with a freeway flyer and reduction boxes - it stays cool even without an extra oil cooler.

Hi just to say my van has now been restored and i live in Falmouth now. its all black all over and a panelvan so no rear windows but cpuld make a cool groom car

just take the bearings into any local bearing supplier and ask for bearings that fit. they will most prob be a standard size and very cheap - bearings havnt really changed in years

I have built my engine with an autolinea super race case - a bubble top . its a great case that has so far been good to me. there was an issue however of the oil galleys not lining up correctly with the backs of the bearings but that was easily sorted so no probs there

I have AAs I weight checked them and they were all very close to each other I think within a tenth of a gram and seemed very good quality. I have psi readings circa 150 psi when compression testing them - they only varied 3 psi across all 4 cylinders.
