Re: My First VW !! Mid Life Crisis

Hi Mark. Have dry fitted everything that you can before painting? Noticed you've painted the doors already. Have you had these in place with the rubbers in situe? Fit the front doors with the rubbers and see if you ca still get a good fit;-) you can adjust as necessary without worrying about super s...

Re: My First VW !! Mid Life Crisis

I like your solution guys. However, if I did this on my van it would only take up about 2/3 of my awning beading and there would be lots of flapping about. We all know what a pain that is in the middle of the night! Have a trial fit with your awning before you go for paint and see what works best fo...

Re: My First VW !! Mid Life Crisis

I binned the original devon awning that came with my first 1970 bay cos I thought it 'old' :( 8O So, we all do it! The only problem with the fixed rail is that it's not easy to unattach if you want a trip out anywhere. Ok if if the van is not going to move anywhere once you're parked up. So, ok for ...

Re: My First VW !! Mid Life Crisis

Hi Mark. RESPECT :) That hole looks small 8O I reckon it will be running over the gutter in all sorts of places when you get any rainfall. Also on the subject of guttering and if you intend attaching an awning at sometime using the figure of 8 clips :?: With the bus (any) being lowered the 8 trim ca...

super rock solid panel-NOW WITH SOME PICS

Hi guys. Putting this on for a friend who doesn't have time (newborn baby) to finish this, which is a shame because I know how much blood sweat and tears he's put into it . If any of you are watching Markp's resto thread? This was bad, but not quite as bad as Mark's. This is one rock solid panel. Re...
Have you checked the gearbox mount ?
I'd like to see someone get a pic of this 8O
If my memory serves me correctly  the clutch pedal should start to stiffen after an inch of being pressed. This is from a 'manual' Adjust the arm/nut accordingley

Re: lack of power

Have you checked your jets?
Sounds to be fuel supply related, or air leak somewhere.

Re: KBL 449D STOLEN Please please help **** NOW RECOVERED ****

I have a long padlock which goes through a drilled hole in the handbrake lever and then latches closed around the gearstick, thus locking the two together. Not much, but it's something to slow the buggers down if anyone does try to nick it. Glad to hear that you'cve got your bus back. Police should ...

Re: Installing new harness - help please.

Think I used a metal coat hanger, all untwined. Bend one end over about 10mm so you don't have a sharp leading edge and push it through (hopefully :? ) Use electricians tape to fasten the loom to it - making sure there are no loose wire ends showing and pull it back. It's a bit fiddly around the rea...
