Re: 1956 RHD 23 window Devon

This one sold in January in the US, a stocker but shows that there are people prepared to pay what it takes to own one still

That's £157,883 even with today's .... exchange rate!

Re: 1956 RHD 23 window Devon

A very nice bus and honestly too cheap, just look around at what prices a top end 21 window LHD drive bus is making (I know of at least 4 at £140k plus) and that makes this RHD 23 window a bargain No idea what the guys going on about regarding London, that's house prices dude not bus prices - why wo...

Re: Steering rack conversion

Just an FYI, if you’re looking to fit this into LHD split (as per the bottom of your post) then you’re out of luck, the rascal system only fits RHD

Re: Photobucket!!!

That is a shame, especially as actual data storage has never been cheaper than it is right now (£per GB)
I guess they just want to earn some cash but people will surely just host elsewhere - strange decision

Re: What engine spec for under 18s?

There are so many different combos that it's hard to say but as a generalisation you need a minimum of 125hp to run a sub 18 in my experience

Re: Propex mounted externally

I would have thought this a bad idea unless they've changed the design, the one I have is certainly not weather proof and wouldn't survive a winter in the rain!

Re: What are the main factors affecting real world mpg on a bus?

Whats the cost in converting to EFI on something like a mild 1776 motor. Yep, what Paul said. The other alternative is the CB Performance kit http://www.cbperformance.com/product-p/7075.htm Very complete and includes the fuel pump, which the Speedshop one doesn't plus great backup support for the g...

Re: What are the main factors affecting real world mpg on a bus?

If you want better mpg then fuel injection is the way forward. I'm getting 32mpg crushing at 60mph - nothing special about that reading this thread but I'm running a 2332cc making 200hp! Re: Remote oil cooler

All I can say it's the only reason Ive ever seen a cooler split and that's exactly what a wax stat is there to prevent.

Why out to of interest would you need one on a stock 1500?

Sounds like the stat is stuck or missing, if missing then I think you've been super lucky all this time

Re: Calling engine experts

Just found out from the previous owner that the jets are 135 mains, 58 idle. I'd say that's a bit big, I've just had a set of 40's jetted up for my 2.0litre BMW and they're only running 130 mains and 50F8 idle (might wear a 55 but not a 58) If they are a bit out then you can assume that the chokes,...

Re: 993 am I mental?

It's doable that's for sure but don't just look at the cost of the engine, there are lots of other costs to take into account, it is not a simple job at all and as someone has already said a properly built motor with efi and turbo will be just as reliable, make more power and be a whole lot lighter....
