Re: Oil Deflector Washer

I’d love to but it didn’t have one ..
It’s leaking like a sieve - even has two paper gaskets back to back ....I’ll get there but clearly putting back what I took off is t going to help!

Oil Deflector Washer

Hi Peeps I’ve a 69 Brazilian Split where most of the parts seem to come from a 67 build :D .. however the seal set for the rear bearing covers comes with two washers - neither fits the diameter of the axle (including the oil deflector one!) - both are too small. I’m totally puzzled as the kit seems ...

Drain Plugs

Hi Peeps

Can I just confirm there are two drain plugs and only one filler plug on a Splitty.

One drain for the Gear Box...one for the Diff but one Filler and the same oil can be used in both.

It’s cold out and having a brain freeze

Thanks as always ... :D

Bolts...

Hi All Is there a tech sheet somewhere with a clear description of what bolt sizes go where. Having to measure a few and clearly I’m incompetent as buying slightly the wrong size or threads not quiet right. Any pointers would be really (really), appreciated as it’s a step forward and a step back at ...

Re: 69 Split Screen - rear bearing cover

Long shot - not only are the covers seemingly impossible to source so are the four bearing cover bolts (albeit these are also referred to as rear cover retaining screws)...any ideas, anyone :)

Cheers All

Re: REAR WHEEL

Agreed - Ford seat belts, Imperial and Metric bolts, Torque settings all over the shop, home-made bolts and spacers, early Bay shoes plus an ignition barrel from something...all repairable but difficult to know what's genuine and what's not! I've had to buy Workshop Manual to give me a fighting chan...

Re: REAR WHEEL

Morning - One question I have is...on a 69 SS (Brazilian), is there a washer between the spacer and bearing itself? Thanks if anyone knows (the diagram I've seen shows the 1200cc only has this washer), but 'Pedro' has so many minors faults difficult to know what's actually supposed to be there and w...

69 Split Screen - rear bearing cover

Firstly thanks for the ad d - always wanted a SS and picked up a 69 Brazilian in need of some TLC. A few “hours” later I’ve removed both Rear Bearing Covers and noted gouge marks and heavy rusting inside the covers themselves. Bottom line is I like to replace both - problem Is does anyone actually s...
