Re: 12v headlamp flash relay 311 941 583

Ok thanks I've traced all of the cables from relay outwards
Terminals S & J appear to be cross connected

Re: 12v headlamp flash relay 311 941 583

Hi vwed But looking at the wiring diagram there is no terminal 30! I'm easily confused by wiring so pardon my ignorance again. I'm now thinking the problem may actually be with the steering column stalk switch as I have noted that if I pull and let go quite aggressively the issue is resolved. I've t...

12v headlamp flash relay 311 941 583

I intend to retain and service my existing relay which I believe may be sticking. Please see my earlier posts. For the minute however I have purchased a replacement from VW heritage only to find it's a 5 pin, not 6 as per the original. I am anxious to resolve for my mot retest but lack the skills to...

Re: Headlight issues 1967 splitscreen microbus

Nick

Just to elaborate on my original post
In order to temporarily "sort" my issue, I do not touch the switch once I have pulled it out tonics full extent.
I manage to toggle the column lever only to sort.

Is it still possible that a dirty switch could be the source of my issue

Thanks again

Ted
Again, any thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I will be sure, not to discard my original relay

Kind regards

Re: Headlight issues 1967 splitscreen microbus

Nick / Ted Thank you both for replying to this thread

I have ordered a replacement relay, however I had not even considered reconditioning what I already have.

I will certainly follow both sets of advice

Headlight issues 1967 splitscreen microbus

Hi Could I please take advice on an issue following an MOT failure? I have an intermittent issue with the headlights on my bus. I have a two position dash mounted dimmable headlight switch. My van is 12v ( I believe from standard ). If I pull the dashboard switch fully into the second position, I am...

At least two!

I'd also be interested. I have an original RHD 67 walkthrough supplied new to Germany with a left hand slider ( on drivers side )

Rag top

Hi I would appreciate some advice please. Betsy is a 1967 microbus who started her life as a RHD issued to Germany. Unusually ( not for Germany I guess) she has a left hand sliding door I.e, on the drivers side. At some point she has been fitted with an after market sliding sunroof which has seen be...

Re: Horn push cable size

Thanks Peter
That's very helpful. I'm a mechanical engineer by trade and bought "brown" cable from a local halfords.
It's 27 Amp rated and as I said, very stiff!
I will take your advice for sure
Kind regards

Horn push cable size

Good evening My first technical query and hopefully very straightforward! Does anyone know what size ( gauge / amperage) cable would be required to replace my horn push? The brown wire at the head of my steering wheel has been replaced at some point with a cable join. My " original " horn push is tr...
