Re: Fuel gauge reading zero ish after long period off road

Yes,you have to check the sender in a bowl off fuel of water. When you have the sender out of the tank the float can go up and down free. It could be that there is a pin hole in the float and if you test it in liquid the float wil stay down and the meter will show empty. I think that is also what i ...

Re: fuel pump

I like electric fuel pumps myself.
But i know people who drive 180 bhp engines in there beetle with stock mechanical fuel pumps.
So it would be more then enough still for your engine.

Re: Fuel tank pin hole

It is a fuel tank above your engine.
It would not be the first bus that catch fire.
So NO don’t just rely on the tank sealer.
How good even those sealers are it is not worth it.
If it was me i weld those holes up first check it if they are closed and then put tank sealer in it.

Mahle or AA is good as well.
But it might be wise to change the piston rings if you go for AA.

Re: Grade of oil to ues in my 1776 engine

10w50 or 15w50.
I use in a 1776 and 2110.
Don’t take 20w50 that is a bit to thick.

Re: Engine dies after a few miles

Did you have a look with a test spark plug to see if you have spark?
If you can eliminate this then you can look at your fuel.

Re: Engine dies after a few miles

Take a test spark with you and when is shutt off have a look with the test spark on your coil if it gives a spark.
Or see on all cilinders if it gives a spark.
