Re: Welding shop!

Cheers pete,

I have some other bits of welding too so taking a job lot to one place even if it’s a little travel involved may be worth it.[emoji106]

Welding shop!

Hi! Does anyone in know of any good welding shops in South Wales area. Need some welding done at the base of my cargo doors which is a bit out of my capability. Don’t mind travelling as I can remove them to take to.

Cheers!

Gearbox codes

Hi guys, Hopefully I could get some info on a problem I'm up against. I'm running a beetle box with a code C202878 I'm not sure if there's any other letter before the C as I've been looking up from underneath the bus to get this. I've connected it up to a 1640cc unit and swapped the nose cone from m...

Gear selection.

Hi guys, I'm looking to try and solve a problem that I left probably up too 3 years ago and only now I'm looking at getting back to solve. I basically installed straight through axle kit (think bus boys?) and had a gear box from a Beatle sent away too tes engines to be refurbed and changed to a high...

Re: Serious front camber issue.please help.

Hi! From looking at picture number 3, I'm wondering if the the upper kin pin where the break hose is running past is fitted wrong. I'm thinking it should be spun 180 degrees because I've recently rebuilt my front end on my split and noticed that these kingpins need to be installed a certain way. ( c...

Re: Over tightening oil pressure switch.

Had the same issue on my newly recon engine. over tightened the oil pressure switch and stripped the threads. There ain't much thread on the pressure switch as its a tapered thread so your are not holding on much of the casing. Asked on the forum for advice and ended up installing a new oil pressure...

Re: Torsion plate set up/ rear camber ??

Ok, thank you and yes it's a straight axle kit on the rear. Got the box and shafts back in now so not long and the bus will be sitting back on all fours and hopefully all will look good. [emoji106]

Re: Vintage speed classic quick change gear stick.

Cheers! I take it the lock out pin for reverse which moves up or down on the shaft faces in the right direction. ( towards the passenger seat) for location on the raised lip on the edge off the plate for reverse gear.

Vintage speed classic quick change gear stick.

Has anyone got any tips on fitting a vintage speed classic quick change gear stick or is it pretty straight forward and how does the reverse lock out work. Noticed the stick is pulled up instead of down unlike stock.
Cheers

Re: The VW engine shop

Hi! I've purchased a recon 1641cc single Port engine from the Engine shop ltd. Has been pretty reliable so far (touch wood) making sure regular services are maintained it seems to be going well. When I enquired they required me to send my old unit in and they would then send a recon unit back out wh...

Re: Gear shift not clean,

Just realised that the rear bush couldn't be changed this morning. I Should of remembered that. The clutch is new and got around 800 miles on it and the thrust bearing which is held by the clips on the forks is a complete new unit. Was kinda guessing that the box will be a little tight until things ...

Re: Gear shift not clean,

Finally got me a set of these bushes and noticing on inspection they got a small circular plastic lug in the centre. Does this locate into a hole on the shaft. Ain't got to the bus to look yet so thought I'd give a quick heads up before I do.

Image how

How do these bushes fit in at the rear of the gear shaft. 2 required so I'm guessing one at each end and splined opened section inserted first ??????
