Re: What happens to an over heated engine

Might have burnt a valve or two.... or possibly also holed a piston - then no compression.... first thing to do is a basic compression check - ideally you want approx 100psi ish fairly well balanced across all cylinders. How did it break down - did it peter out to a stop or just stop dead? Have you ...

Re: What engine bay fire system have you got?

I have a 3Mtr BlazeCut pipe in mine - it strip clips to the roof of the engine bay - takes minutes to fit, and is peace of mind. Its the sort that holds a liquid in a plastic pipe under pressure, until the pipe melts then the liquid comes out as a gas through the hole. I also have 2 hand helds, one ...

Re: Headlight flasher not working-late split-& how I fixed it...

Hi Gertjan, Glad it helped - even a couple of years after I posted it - hahaha :bounce: It looks like yours has been full of water - as they re mounted 'upside down' behind the kickpanel any water leaking in will just drop & sit on top of the relay board and dribble inside.... I have a slight water ...

Not a complaint, as all weekends in Su...

10yrs!! Your daughter will be wanting it as her first car if you carry on - hahahahaha!
Nice colours - Palm Green/Sand Green? - a huge improvement on the rhubarb & custard look beforehand!

Also seconding keep the Devon interior - love ours, such a practical layout for an 11 Window.

Re: Tyres

Most people go the other way and fit 15" wheels to 14" buses so they can get a bigger tyre on to try lift gearbox/final drive ratio to those approaching OG CrossPly tyre sizes. I'm guessing with your dropped spindles you want to see if you can get a 75 or 80 profile on? Do you have any tyre rubbing ...

Re: rear back plate /handbrake cable removal

On mine (67) the handbrake cable outer sheath/collar end fits into a stamped retainer on the back of the brake backplate - one side slid out easy - the other side was absolutely solid - spent too many hours trying to get it free - eventually just drilled out the couple of spot welds holding the reta...

Re: Drive away awning

I also use a Khyam Motordome Sleeper - the only minor gripes are - its flipping heavy! - I had to split it into two bags as I couldn't get it above my head to put it on the roof rack! It doesn't fold up very small - due to all the poles still being in the awning. But it is very well made and had no ...
