Re: Vague Gear Change

ref the Floor Plate flange question - as I understand it early buses did not have the second flange - later ones did - but I also believe they are fully interchangeable. The most important part is the bigger ramped flange of the RH side - as this is the reverse stop - you have to push the gearlever ...

Re: Julian Collinge. Very sad news.

That is truly heartbreaking news Dougie - Julians/Monkey Knuts resto thread is absolutely fantastic, and he put his heart & soul into the resto of his Bus and its Devon Interior - everything was done to the highest possible standard and attention to detail - and all meticulously detailed on the Foru...

Re: Glazed drum brakes and what to do?

Hi Gertjan, Normally you get glazed brakes from lightly riding the pedal, or over-adjusted brakes so they are dragging all the time - this heats up the shoes/dums and makes them very smooth & shiny - can also cause squeal/poor stopping power. Ideally remove the drums and attack the drum braking surf...

Re: Ignition power loss

Also lots of issues with the sprung tabs in the fuse box - try and clean up the little hole where the nub of the fuse fits into - this needs to be clean & shiny bright, and carefully bend the sprung arms to increase the tension on the fuses.
Very common issue!

Re: Vague Gear Change

Morning All Again, The only other thing I've noticed while driving the '57 is it's vague gear change. There are no noises or jumping out of gear so I'm not concerned much there, but finding the gears is too much like stirring my porridge in the morning. There is not really any definite 'neutral', a...

Re: Wiper arms & blades

Hi Graham, yes I looked at trying to remove the hard rubber strip from the WW blades and trying to fit a more modern rubber blade into a standard split wiper blade body.... be interested in how you did it... as the Morris units don’t really look like split screen wipers... but they work a million ti...

Re: Wiper arms & blades

I bought some new WW blades and they were rubbish... worse than the ones I took off!!... I bought some 11” stainless Morris minor articulated blades that someone on here recommend .... they have a modern style blade in them, they literally just push on to the standard arms. let’s just say they trans...

It was a fantastic turn out for the Show n Shine.... I was really expecting to see an ever falling aircooled attendance and it be taken over by the T5 crew like Busfest but was gladly surprised to see a full T1 class turnout! Great Show 👍

Re: Engine stuttered like running out of fuel...

I would say either coil failing when hot, or electronic ign module failing I had similar last year - it would misfire a couple of times then carry on, a bit later same thing, until it got to the point where it would cut out and not restart - leave it for a few mins it would start and run OK. It was ...
