Re: Dropped spindles back to standard?

Or actually the best option for me will probably to buy a whole 2nd hand front beam, trailing arms and ball joint spindles which i can fit to my 68 bay :-)

Re: Dropped spindles back to standard?

No - thats a great explanation and makes perfect sense. I imagine that dropped spindles would receive more wear in that lower bushing and linkpin then.

Looks like if i want to do this, i'd be looking for a swap deal or to buy some recon stock spindles outright then :-)

THanks, Mike

Re: Dropped spindles back to standard?

Thanks. - the machining you refer to - how come that doesn’t affect them when they are ‘dropped’ currently?

If there are any safety issues, there is no way I would consider this - just purely for my interest, trying to understand what process they go through when they are changed to be dropped.

Re: Dropped spindles back to standard?

Hmm - never thought of that - not a bad idea . I kind of liked the idea of being able to swap it back if I liked that’s all!

Dropped spindles back to standard?

Hi - I have dropped spindles on my van (it’s actually a 68 bay with a king link pin front end) I’m considering putting it to stock height- I don’t think it is, but it’s worth me asking - is there anyway I can convert my dropped spindles back to standard height ones? Would it be a case of rearranging...

3 Point Seat Belt Moounting in a factory Microbus

Hi, Has anyone seen a microbus with a 3 point seat belt on the middle bench folding seat next to the doors? This is actually for a 68 Swedish Bay, but I figured a late split shouldn’t be too different! It has the factory seat belt mounts with white plastic plugs in them. I can see on the other side,...

Re: 1641 SP Engine Turnkey and Complete

By the way - I might go to that show best Yeovil on Sunday if the weather is not too bad - drop me a message if you are and pop by and say hello.

Not sure if I'll be in the van or Cathy's golf - golf looking more likely at the mo!

Hello - not bad thanks!

I've just finished building a 1915 for my bay - hopefully going in tonight or tomorrow:-)

Yes - tinware was painted that colour when bought it originally - Lamborghini orange apparently!

Re: Front shocks recommendation - stock vs aftermarket?

Hi - I ended up picking up some hardly used t2d ones - the yellow bilstein ones.

To be honest, they`re pretty good and give a nice ride :-)

1641 SP Engine Turnkey and Complete

Hi, I`m upgrading my bus to a bigger engine, so i have my old for sale. Its a complete 1641 Single Port engine, turnkey and ready to bolt in - i literally just drove my van into the garage this afternoon, removed the engine and its ready to bolt straight in. The only bit missing would be the front p...

Re: Front shocks recommendation - stock vs aftermarket?

Hi,

Thanks for advice - i actually think i`m going to go for some stock Wolksburg West ones actually as they`re £35 each and my budget is already pretty stretched!

I`ll see how they go - i can always upgrade them in a year or so if needs be!

Cheers, Mike
