Re: Quick shifter plate - any good?
I love ours. It made a big improvement for me (small person with limited reach once fastened into fixed seat belts). For £10 it's worth a go and easy on / off again if you change your mind.

Re: New Owner / Member saying hello
Hello Rob and welcome, we are honest bus owners, little old strictly average, slightly mismatched gaudy to some 66 girl with dodgy headlights with 1 birthday candle power and teeny wing mirrors which move as soon as a breeze catches them. (and several water leaks) Our solutions: 1: Try to reach all ...

Re: L87 PEARL WHITE PAINT - PROBLEMS URGENT! help!!!
Does this help? :?: paint chips we had made up when choosing a new top colour for ours last year. When I did the tiinterweb reaserch into why they don't seem to match vans on the road it seems like the new type of water based paints are not quite like the originals used to be. I also stalked buses a...

Re: show pictures in vw mags
I'm fairly new to thie splitty scene and even an amateur like me is seeing this phenomena. Even so far as I'm taking a 'well what's special about that' attitude to some feature buses. Ha I Think it becomes addictive to see 'yourself' like getting lots of likes in FB or replies to a thread I suppose....

Re: History of your bus
(with Uk buses - i found if you just go to vanfest and drive around a while, sooner or later you'll bump into someone who knows your buses history - and in my case, even did some welding on it in the 80/90's)[/quote] We have a proper North Easter Geordie bus (rock hard) and were flagged down by some...

Try the 'goof bid' app bud, again, not guaranteed if someone is prepared to pay more but gets those last minute bids in for you.

Re: seat belts
Ours is a walk through 66 i'll take some pics of how the belts attach at the weekend. They are 3 point non inertia belts with no loops in the webbing. The webbing is just arranged through the metal fixings. It'll give you an idea. PS they have lap bits with flip up buckles too. I'll see if they are ...

Ps didn't warm seals. It's always cold in the North! Cools down before you've done the bloody window. Leave the bus out in the sun for a while if you have any anymore.

Re: window removal advice please
Ahem, and girls... Inside to out, 1 person in and 1 person outside to catch. Two spoon handles or similar proper tools levered into the recess between the inner and outer window seals gradually widening the gap and pushing firmly and evenly on the glass until it gives. Didn't cut any seals (or beeak...

Re: Make your own fabric headliner?
Yup, 3 1/2 meters of cloth from bulkhead to rear Devon cabinets. 54" wide fabric fits exactly, Just make loops for the bows (I have all measurements somewhere I can look out for you), not that difficult as it was a perfect rectangle for the area in my van. I used upholstery clips to secure it down e...

Re: GUTTED.... wrecked by a mindless idiot VOTE PINK or CHA
Or you could change the colour! Then get the bus wrapped on the lower half in pink with graphics. Then if you ever sold it would have the other colour underneath. Sorry to hear about the further complications (stick it out is my gut reaction) but this is a genius idea! No idea how expensive it is, ...
