Re: Sliding door search

It was available as an option for a number of years prior to the introduction of the Bay window.
I have a NOS central lock mechanism available (different from the Bay mechanisms) should you require one.

Re: What carb is this ?

Vergaser (note correct spelling) is the German for carburettor.
The 118 part of the part number you quote seems odd, more likely to be 113.

Re: 6 volt or 12 volt

Bear in mind that both the 6 volt and 12 volt cylindrical wiper motor were 2 speed.
Best to look at the part number.
211 955 111 Q = 6 volt.
211 955 113 Q = 12 volt.

Re: 6 volt or 12 volt

As above, the M code for a 12 volt Bus is M620. If your Bus is originally from the States it is likely to have this. UK/European Buses remained 6 volt until the start of the '67 model year (August '66) when they too became 12 volt. As above, I would have thought a quick look at your battery will giv...

Re: Totally free Hessisch swag

I was disappointed that one couldn't buy the programme separately from the registration office at HO. Only seemed to be available in the goodie bags for those who registered.
If anybody has a programme spare I'd be interested in purchasing it.

Re: Photobucket are bumholes...

I use the samba.com as my VW photo hosting site (https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album ... uthor=vwed). From this I can link to any forum easily.
Also this means that the pictures stay on the samba forever and can be a useful resource for other VW owners.

Filled in a lot of gaps for me as I spent most of my time (as usual) in the parts market.

Re: Camping after Hessisch in Germany (Wolfsburg?? Hanover??)

Via thesamba.com I've ascertained that a tour of the Hannover Bus plant/Historic Dept. is being organised on the Monday PM. Also a tour of Wolfsburg on the Tuesday, starting 9AM. More details and registration at HO itself.

Re: Camping after Hessisch in Germany (Wolfsburg?? Hanover??)

Wolfsburg is awesome. The Autostadt complex there has incredible exhibits and original vehicles on display, including a section on Ivan Hirst and the REME involvement in the immediate post-war period that brought a lump to my throat. You could easily spend a whole day in there. There is also the sepa...
